Atua says: Yes Faith L., what you had experienced after looking at the sun is the same condition on what I am suffering now. Some of the complications on my sight until now are distortion of figures at the point of focussing such as bulging, crooked and broken straight line. The peripheral part of vision, I mean the area around and outside the focussing point, the visual acuity was normal. At night time, when I looked at distant road lamp, I saw several ghost images around the original lamp. I swear that all these are true happenings on me.

Atua says: I also has history of looking at the sun directly with my both eyes alternately for about 5 to 8 minutes continuously without using any dark glasses or any shield, at about 11 am when I was 20 yrs old. Now I am 51 yrs old. Now I work as a Medical Doctor. Atua is just my untrue name. I am shy why I have to do this stupid thing.I will clarify further about its effect later.

Anti Astrology

Pondering Volcano says: This is to random lady above, the "Sagittarius". Do you really want to live your life bound by the rules of a system that is not only unscientific, but completely made up Most people who claim to see truth in astrology have learnt the so-called traits of their sun sign at a very early age and this has indoctinated them into certain patterns of thinking and behaviour. Ever noticed how you seem to meet more Leos and Pisceans than Scorpios and Virgos Why do you think this is Leo and Pisces are signs attributed with the most generous characteristics of the human psyche, while signs like Scorpio and Virgo are supposed to be the meanest. Consequently, not many Scorpios and Virgos will proudly introduce their sign into conversation like Leos, the 'kings of the zodiac' often will. And the sad part is that it's all bunkum. Astrology only exists because of 2 things called imagination and the Reticular Activating System (RAS) in the human brain. Imagination is required to make up the zodiac shapes out of arbitrary star sprinkles on the night sky, neglecting to interrogate and challenge the false assumption that just because something doesn't seem to change over time, it somehow holds some special, even mystical, significance (like fairies in oak trees). And the RAS in the brain is responsible for noticing things in life of relevance. For example, when you learn a new word, you seem to see that word everywhere. Your brain is a file holder of all your past decisions. If you are told that you're a Sagittarius and this sign is 'fiery', your RAS will activate your brain's memory files searching for every instance of fieriness it can find in your life up until now. Even if you only chose on 3 occasions out of 50 to act in a fiery way, and the other 47 times you were un-fiery, your RAS will highlight only the fiery instances and present them to you. Why Because "fiery" is the search word you typed in, of course! If you had typed in the word "submissive", you would have got a different result. The word "vengeful" would have yielded a different result again. And so on. The brain works just like a computer. Now, over time, if someone has been conditioned to think that they are "courageous", they will start to automatically act that way, apart from the influence of their upbringing or their genes, which are the starting blocks of our personality and easily explain why differences in personality exist in children, twins etc. In the same way that red-heads are let off the hook from a young age for being short-tempered, and end up living out more short-tempered lives because of it, people who've been told they are a certain way because of their star sign and therefore cannot change it because it is their 'basic nature', will likewise live out that reality, unless they choose to free their mind from such rubbish and live out the life of FREE WILL they were intended for. Not convinced yet I have 2 pieces of evidence for you. Firstly, an experiment was conducted in the US (check it out on YouTube) where a group of students was told to supply their birth date details and they would each receive a read-out from a special astrology computer which would describe their individual personality based on their date of birth. After each student read their paragraph they were asked to rate its truth. Most of them agreed with what the paragraph said. Some of them even started to believe astrology was true. The spanner was thrown when one student was asked to stand and read out their description. The whole class burst out laughing. Their paragraphs said exactly the same thing! Basically, the paragraph was made up of sentences that were so vague, they could apply to anyone. So why had some students felt they described them so exactly Because their RAS was so powerful, it could access their memories very effectively and fill in the blanks where required, to make the picture of themselves accord with what was written in the paragraph. My second piece of evidence comes from actually analysing famous people whose sun signs were known. To begin, Capricorn has been called the Old Man of the zodiac. A fussy, cranky, un-stylish Scrooge-type character. Elvis Presley was a Capricorn. Next, Cancer has been called the coward of the zodiac, shy, timid & afraid of confrontation. Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar and Nelson Mandela were all born under this sign. Taurus is called the Mother Earth nurturer of life. Adolf Hitler was a Taurus. Pisces is the sign that is so full of compassion, he couldn't hurt a fly. Osama bin Laden was a Pisces. I could go on and on giving examples but I think by now you get the message. If you happen to fit the characteristics of a particular star sign, it's either because you chose to act them out, believing them to be worthy of your attention, or it's purely coincidental. Ultimately, you are who you are because of the choices you make, not because of the stars. They've never met you.
