World Wind Add-on

I mentioned NASA World Wind in my previous post and said that it was possible to add data layers. I have been exploring the add-on possibilities and noticed that the Telescopes add-on doesn't seem to be available at the moment. So, I have started to put together my own Observatory add-on with individual icons for each observatory and links to home pages. Below is a screenshot of Europe to show what it looks like so far.

Comments: World Wind Add-on

I'll have to download this and check it out! Since we've seen google maps versions of the Moon, Mars, and even Europa, I'm always wondering when we'll see a version of the sky with overlays from diffent all-sky surveys.

Perhaps with this new NASA World Wind software, we can make our own sky overlays?

Brandon, I think that is the case although I'm not sure how you go about putting mapping data in. I should have mentioned that the Sloan Digital Sky Survey is another 'world' that can be chosen.

I fixed the link, I would love to see your add-on too. http://www.twobeds.com/nasa/bull/World_Wind_1.3.1_Telescopes_1.0.exe
